How to choose an iron supplement
Iron comes in several forms, such as bisglycinate (often sold as Ferrochel), fumarate and citrate, and in liposomal versions. Compare the amount of elemental iron per serving, usually 10mg to 30mg. Liquids, chewables and sprays suit people who find tablets difficult, and children's products are clearly labelled.

Keep iron supplements out of the reach of children, as accidental overdose of iron-containing products can be harmful to young children. Do not exceed the stated dose.
