Why buffered vitamin C?
Standard vitamin C, ascorbic acid, is naturally acidic. In calcium ascorbate the vitamin is bound to calcium, giving a gentler, non-acidic form that some people find easier on the stomach. Vitamin C is also an antioxidant and is needed for collagen formation. A powder is a flexible way to take it, as the amount can be adjusted easily and there are no tablet binders or capsule shells.
